Jacqueline Chen is the Development and Engagement Manager for Hong Kong (and previously also covering Singapore where she set up the operations). She brings together organizations and people who are keen on philanthropy to channel resources to a portfolio of field partners through EMpower. Prior to joining EMpower, Jacqueline was the Country Director of Operation ASHA (Cambodia). She was overseeing the country operations, and led the second largest tuberculosis NGO in Cambodia, treating 5,000 patients every year. The most rewarding part of her job was seeing her work positively impacting people’s lives every day.
Before Operation ASHA, Jacqueline was doing policy work with the Singapore Government, developing the national strategy for the community care sector and piloting new care models to meet the healthcare needs of the ageing population. She also reviewed the compensation and career progression structure of doctors and dentists to enhance retention within the public healthcare sector.
Jacqueline graduated from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University and obtained a Master in Public Policy from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
