EMpower Learning Exchange In Guangzhou, China

A Learning Exchange in Guangzhou, China brought together EMpower’s China-based grantee partners: Qi Chuang, Included and Yunnan Peili Youth Development Center.

The Learning Exchange had two focuses: story-telling, and gender-sensitivity and awareness. This exchange emphasized the importance of gender awareness in programs for youth, provided information on the situation of girls and women in China and helped participants to learn about effective communication to amplify girls’ voices.

The results?

Real-world, practical follow-through. Each partner has incorporated gender sensitivity in its future programming. Participants were also excited to share their learnings about gender.
