EMpower supporters came together in London on November 17th for the Annual Dinner in Support of Youth. Our generous guests raised an astonishing and record-breaking total of £920,000!

We were honored to be joined by Grace Osakue, co-founder and Chairperson Executive Board of Nigerian grantee partner Girls’ Power Initiative (GPI) who highlighted brilliantly the impact of EMpower’s 9-year partnership with GPI. Grace discussed how girls and young women in Nigeria face many problems such as gender-based violence, HIV and AIDS, and unemployment. GPI supports girls aged 10-18 with comprehensive sexuality education, gender and human rights, and livelihoods programs. Grace also highlighted how EMpower’s support has allowed them to make real strides in the economic empowerment of girls and young women, as well as strengthening and growing GPI through monitoring and evaluation, and information management.

We are so thrilled to have such fantastic supporters who allow us to continue and grow our work supporting organisations in emerging market countries, helping at-risk youth reach their full potential. Special thanks to the EMpower Dinner Committee, Board Directors, Underwriters and guests for making it all possible!
