Anusha Naicker

Regional Programme Director, Africa

Ms Anusha Naicker is EMpower's Regional Programme Director in Africa. Anusha is a seasoned Youth Development Specialist with association, agency, and international development experience. She brings a unique perspective to her work as a leader in the field of Skills Development, Education and Youth Empowerment with both local and international knowledge. Anusha Naicker’s development expertise encompasses Business, Private, and Public-sector exposure. Her credentials are enhanced by her broad experience in social development projects and programmes and wide-ranging training delivery in TVET colleges, schools, community organisations, government agencies, and non-profit organisations, with a focus on community skills development and upliftment programmes to reduce inequalities and unemployment among previously disadvantaged young people to encourage their participation in the economy.

Given that we are now, more than ever, living in times of change, technical advancement with business innovation and self-improvement the norm, Anusha has developed impactful digital learning projects for youth in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Botswana to help them keep up with the many changes.  Her focus in this realm has enabled systems to simultaneously enhance the responsiveness of the education and training systems to these changes in skill requirements and, at the same time, improve overall access to marginalised youth.

Anusha possesses a strong commitment to transforming teaching and learning in our schools and education systems. She has spent much of her career ensuring equity and excellence in education and is a tireless advocate for ensuring that young people have the chance to learn and grow under teachers whose knowledge and skills have been enhanced and enriched with cutting-edge teaching methodologies.
