Adam Heuman is Vice President of Global Development & Marketing at EMpower. He works closely with the Board of Directors and leads a talented global team to drive revenue growth across all of EMpower’s offices—USA, UK, India, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Under his leadership, EMpower has also begun exploring new markets, such as the United Arab Emirates, through close collaboration with the Leadership Council. Since joining in 2019, Adam has helped double EMpower’s global income from just over $5 million to more than $10 million. His work spans traditional fundraising, such as annual dinners, as well as building partnerships with institutional funders and major donors to unlock capital for under-funded initiatives across EMpower’s 15 emerging market countries.

Adam brings over 20 years of experience, most recently serving as Deputy CEO of a global girls’ rights organisation that reached more than 10 million girls across 150 countries. Beyond income generation, he has expertise in business transformation and strategic projects, including work with McKinsey & Company. Having also led a small charity, Adam has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by smaller organisations and a strong passion for supporting EMpower’s grantee partners to thrive.

Adam holds an MBA from BPP Law School, specialising in international management and studied part-time on full scholarship. 

Outside of work, Adam loves to spend time with his two sons, aged 11 and 9. He also plays extremely average tennis, with the intensity of someone who thinks Wimbledon scouts are watching.
