Having been a part of the development and education sector for over 12 years, Deeksha joined EMpower as the Senior Programme Officer in India in October 2022. As the SPO, Deeksha manages grantmaking for the Economic Well-Being Portfolio and strengthens the alumni network in India. Prior to this, she was heading the Social Inclusion Department of Shiv Nadar Schools, where she worked towards creating an inclusive community within and outside the institution through experiential and travel-based interventions.

Deeksha started her journey in the development sector with Swechha-We for Change Foundation, where she worked closely with children, women, and young people on Education, Environment, and Entrepreneurship issues. Over the last decade, she has represented the organisations she has worked with at national and international forums, such as the BRICS Youth Summit, National Curriculum training, and the Asia-Pacific Schools Initiative.

She finds joy and a sense of stability in working with young people, spending time with her plants, and exploring forests and mountains.
