Priyasha Banerjee is EMpower's Programme Associate based in Delhi, India. She supports the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project activities, working closely with the Programme team in India.
Priyasha is passionate about gender and health and wishes to contribute to impactful policies that result in positive change in India's social landscape. Before her current role at EMpower, Priyasha played a vital role as a Programme Assistant at Partnerships for Impact (P4i), where she was an integral part of the founding team and actively supported the organisation's growth. Her engagement spanned various program areas, including gender, health, climate change, road safety, and nutrition.
Priyasha also served as a Capacity Building Officer at Humsafar Trust, India's largest LGBTQ+ Community-Based Organization, where she significantly contributed to policy proposals for the National Medical Commission and spearheaded advocacy efforts for social entitlements within the transgender community. Furthermore, her journey includes impactful internships at prestigious institutions like NITI Aayog, India's planning commission, where she played a pivotal role in developing and finalising Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators.
Hailing from Delhi, Priyasha completed her undergraduate studies in English Literature before pursuing a Master's in Public Policy from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Beyond her professional pursuits, Priyasha finds solace in literature and Netflix, accompanied by a comforting cup of coffee.
