Associação Comunitária Despertar
Founded in 1994, Despertar is a community-based organization that provides a range of training opportunities as well as cultural and recreational outlets to youth and adults to young people and adults from a low-income area of São Paulo. EMpower‘s most recent grant supported the organization to make key improvements to Oportunidade Já (Opportunity Already), a job training and placement program for young people. With EMpower‘s support, Despertar was able to significantly increase the job placement rate among livelihoods training participants.
Our Underwriters pay for all of our administrative and fundraising costs, so 100% of your donation goes directly to empowering at-risk youth.
