Founded in 1994, Despertar is a community-based organization that provides a range of training opportunities as well as cultural and recreational outlets to youth and adults to young people and adults from a low-income area of São Paulo. With EMpower‘s support, Despertar was able to significantly increase the job placement rate among livelihoods training participants.
