Educational levels vary widely in Turkey. Great progress has been achieved in primary education of girls and boys but there is a sharp drop off, with only 76% of girls and 81% of boys enrolled in secondary schools. The gender gap is also pronounced in employment , with 76% of men in the labor force compared to 30% of women, and men holding 64% of all professional or technical positions.

Founded and funded by one of Turkey’s leading businessmen and philanthropists, HMOV is dedicated to increasing educational opportunities for disadvantaged populations through dedicated schools and dorms to make schooling more accessible through infrastructure investments.
