EMpower Launches Capacity Development Initiative with Credit Suisse in Asia

EMpower in Hong Kong is excited to kick off a two-year regional capacity development initiative in February 2021 co-funded by and in partnership with Credit Suisse. The initiative will equip our local CSO partners providing future skills training to marginalised young people with the knowledge, skills, and network to become more effective, collaborative agents of change and build partnerships for the future.

We will launch the initiative with 18 EMpower and Credit Suisse partners from 7 Asian countries. This project is a continuation of a partnership in capacity development that EMpower Hong Kong and Credit Suisse started in 2018 with a regional workshop for 10 EMpower and Credit Suisse partners from 6 Asian countries. During 2019-2020, we engaged in a first capacity development initiative working with 6 interested partners from 3 countries on tangible solutions for concrete needs after the workshop learning.

The new initiative 2021-2023 will engage partners with webinars on shared needs, offer learning and partnership grants and regular exchanges. We wish to tap into the already
existing knowledge and expertise of our grantee partners in the region and support a process of collaboration and partnership building between organisations. To build a more conducive ecosystem of funders for capacity development, EMpower will also offer a webinar on the initiative as such for the broader philanthropy community in year two of the initiative.
