Along with UNDP in India, Mahindra Group, and Azad Foundation India, an EMpower grantee partner, we co-hosted a virtual side event at the UN's Commission on the Status of Women, “Driving Change: How Non-Traditional Livelihoods Can Advance Gender Equality, Insights from India.” Speakers explored our collective learning and experience in India on how expanding the livelihood opportunities that are accessible to young women can go a long way in furthering gender equality.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we launched a report "Heeding the Call: Insights from Young People and Organisations to Advance Adolescent Mental Health in South Africa." Elevate Children hosted a virtual launch event that featured an important discussion on why it is critical to invest in young people's mental health and strategies on how to do this effectively.

With support from the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, EMpower launched the COVID In Her Voice project, to meaningfully centre the ideas, voices, and wisdom of girls into conversations of inclusive recovery. Under the aegis of this project, we developed the EMpower Leaders Lab, a three-month participatory action research engagement with 25 girls from urban areas in India who were in charge of the research design and implementation.

एम्पावर को बहुत खुशी हो रही है COVID लड़कियों की आवाज़ में, रिपोर्ट लॉन्च करते हुए। भारत में लड़कियों पे महामारी के प्रभाव को समझने के लिए, हमने एक पार्टिसिपेटरी एक्शन रसेअर्च की, जो कि लड़कियों द्वारा संचालित और लड़कियों को केंद्र बिंदु बना के की गई। इस प्रक्रिया के तहत, 25 गर्ल लीडर्स ने, 7 शहरों से 153 साथियों का इंटरव्यू लिया यह पता लगाने के लिए कि COVID ने किस तरह उनके जीवन को बदला है।
