EMpower, a global philanthropic organisation, is dedicated to improving the lives and horizons of marginalised young people ages 10-24 in 15 emerging market countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Turkey. Through grants and other support (learning exchanges, technical assistance, thought partnering etc.), EMpower partners with ~125 local organisations working to strengthen education and livelihoods of young people, and to build their resilience, self-confidence, and well-being. Empower has offices in Hong Kong, Delhi, Singapore, London, and New York, as well as programme staff in Ghana, Istanbul, Mexico, Argentina, and South Africa. Internship Overview
Internship Title: Business Development & Communications Intern
Reports to: Development Operations Assistant
Business Unit: Development
Location: United States (Remote)
Employment Status: Intern
% Time: 6 hours per week, flexible (3–6-month term, 6 month preferred)
Stipend: 65 USD per week.
Start Date: Flexible (August/September 2024)
Internship Summary
The Business Development & Communications Intern will gain skills in business development, fundraising events, communications, and CRM databases while helping to transform the lives of global marginalised youth via a remote-based internship requiring just 6-hours/week and offering a weekly stipend with the mission-based organisation EMpower - The Emerging Markets Foundation.
Primary Responsibilities
The Business Development & Communications Intern will support EMPower’s U.S.-based development team on projects related to business development, communications, charitable fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship events, and Salesforce CRM database management.
