Global Reach: Past Grantees

Bharat Memorial Charitable Trust (NeeV)

The EMpower grant will support NeeV in building the infrastructure to provide hands-on science training at higher secondary level through the development of a science laboratory and training of facilitators in teaching Science and Math through hands-on experience using models, experiments and projects. This ‘train the trainer’ training will be undertaken by Aavishkaar – Centre for Science, Math, Arts and Technology. Aavishkaar specialises in making Science and Math experiential, hands-on/minds-on, engaging, immersive and accessible children and youth from under-resourced communities. Over the last two decades, they have been developing evidence-backed content that is rigorous and relevant and can fundamentally transform the classroom experience for the child – even in low-income community schools.

Current Grant:

EMpower’s ELC grant to NeeV will support the development of infrastructure to provide hands-on science training at higher secondary level through development of a science laboratory and training of 15 facilitators at NeeV. Through this a curriculum-based training in Science, Technology and Mathematics focused subjects will be provided to 100 girls at secondary level.
