Context:
An organization working in a very underserved district of Istanbul whose residents tend to be internal migrants (coming from rural areas of Turkey) and increasingly other external migrants as well (Syrian etc).
Organization:
BPAs main aims are educational support, personal development support for children and informing women about their health and health rights related issues. Especially to those who migrated to big cities from other parts of Turkey. Over the last 10 years, BPA has been working focused on Fener-Balat area in Istanbul. Women are poorly educated and most of them don’t work. Especially limited education on Hygiene and health issues. Because of this reason women and children are having serious health issues. Violence is common in daily family life. BPA has also been implementing nationwide projects, mainly focusing on health and health right issues as well as disaster care situations and translation/adaptation programs.
