Global Reach: Past Grantees

CBC was founded in 2003 with the mission of improving the well-being, self-esteem and self-sufficiency of socially vulnerable women by equipping them to earn their own incomes. Originally focused on training individuals to work in the beauty and personal care industries, CBC has expanded into other sectors via the TransVidro program, which combines the collection and recycling of waste glass with the design and production of home décor, jewellery and corporate gifts, as a means of providing income to marginalized communities. EMpower’s grant allowed TransVidro’s to upgrade their production capacity and product quality, as well as train several young women.
