Marli Gutierrez is the Global Communications Specialist at EMpower and is responsible for developing and maintaining key communications strategies and materials globally. As the Global Communications Specialist, Marli plays a key role in enhancing the organization’s global visibility, brand, and outreach.

Marli is a global health communications expert with a passion for communications, engagement, and advocacy. Prior to joining EMpower, Marli worked in Bangkok, Thailand for a regional organization on community-led initiatives throughout Asia and the Pacific focused on gender inclusion. Marli’s experience includes leading international human rights campaigns, managing publications, educational materials, grant proposals, and grant implementation. Public health expertise includes policy and program development in areas related to gender equality, access to public health, and human rights equity. Geographical areas of expertise include the USA and SE Asia.

Marli holds a MPH from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and a BA from Columbia University in the City of New York.
