A new EMpower research report in English, Hindi and Spanish highlights the importance of focusing on very young adolescent girls (ages 10-14) both in programming and funding.
This pivotal research publication reviews current programming focused on very young adolescent girls (ages 10-14), culling evidence and best practices from grassroots organizations and girls’ perspectives. Key findings and recommendations point to the importance of greater strategic funding and programmatic emphasis on working with and for this age group.
A central aspect of EMpower’s work with grassroots organizations includes a multitude of lenses including, age, ethnicity, religion, migrant status, and educational and literacy levels. We recognize the need for age-differentiated programming. Very young adolescent girls are often overlooked missing the opportunity unique to this critical phase of development.
