Heeding the Call: Insights from Young People and Organisations to Advance Adolescent Mental Health in South Africa

Through a learning exercise, we sought to better understand the value of long-term funding and EMpower's partnership model. We did so by exploring in-depth the changes experienced by our recently “sunsetted” grantee partners—those who have received 10 years of grants and have received their final grant within the last three years—and assessing EMpower’s contribution to those changes.

Our Adolescent Girls Learning Communities in Mumbai and Delhi—safe spaces where girls can come together and be in the driver’s seat—recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. This toolkit features the voices and expertise of these girls and includes practical and actionable guidance for individuals and organisations planning girl-centred programmes. It includes fresh ideas on how to create and sustain programmes that enable girls to lead, in their own lives and in their communities.
